I got a ukulele for Christmas, so I’ve been playing constantly since I opened the box, basically. Here’s the first result of my efforts! Music and Lyrics by me.

I picked up a copy of a picture book called Melinda when I was at the World Fantasy Convention. It was a short story or poem, depending on your perspective, by Neil Gaiman, and while reading it, this melody just came into my head. So, here it is. Lyrics by Neil Gaiman and music by me. This is just a quick recording, I want to make a better one some day, but I thought it would be nice to share for Christmas. I hope you like it!

Merry Christmas!
My first ever EP on bandcamp! Give it a listen, or a download. Pay for it, or don’t. Just spread the word!
I’ve worked very hard on this, and all of it’s done by me personally. I’m so proud right now, you have no idea…
PS: If you’re expecting a Christmas gift from me, well, don’t pay for it…
To start off the new month well, here’s another post straight away!
For my friend Fred, I think you’ll like this new song we’ve been working on for my gig. It’s right up your alley, thematically.
Music and lyrics by me.
Work in progress, so, as usual, any comments or thoughts are very welcome.
From today’s rehearsal, finally in audio. You can read the lyrics here.
Still a bit rough, and the snare kept slipping, so there are drums missing in one place, but it’s an idea.
It’s been a while since I’ve given you guys any music. I wrote this on Wednesday and brought it straight to my band practice on Thursday to try out. Here it’s featuring Robin on acoustic guitar and Steve on bass, but this isn’t what I mean it to sound like in the end. I’m feeling a grungy sort of vibe on it, a bit Nirvana, Alice in Chains, if you know what I mean.
Still a work in progress, so any comments are appreciated.

A quick “live” recording from my living room of a new song that I finished yesterday. I screw up twice with the piano. Oh, well…

More for my own amusement than anything else, here are a few recordings from upper secondary school, back when I wanted to be an opera singer. Have fun!
Let’s start with some semi-contemporary Norwegian music. Sparre-Olsen:
On to just a bit of Mozart:
Bei Männern Wälche Liebe Fühlen
And, just to emphasise on how terrible my German is, here’s a little bit of Kurt Weill:
I think I’ve got a couple more on my other computer; I might upload them later, if I find them. I couldn’t tell you who plays piano on all of these because it was such a long time ago, but my partner in song on Bei Männern Wälche Liebe Fühlen (I think I spelled that right) was the wonderful Kim Wigaard Johansen.
